Berberis

Berberis is a large genus of deciduous and evergreen shrubs from 1–5 m tall, found throughout temperate and subtropical regions of the world.

Berberis are highly ornamental evergreen shrubs, economical to plant as they need little aftercare.

There are a number of species, all bearing showy yellow flowers, followed by beautiful coral or glossy red berries , occasionally purple or black.
